Kazduin' Korner
Hey there Playfire people! I thought I would contribute to the community news, so I'm going to list my top five favorite things about Playfire and you're going to read it! (Right? >_>)
Number 5: Tracking
One of the reasons why Playfire grew on me so fast was because of the tracking feature. It has always been a pleasure to see your exploits in the gaming world show up on the web! It was a great and efficient way to show your buddies how you're doing or what you're playing. Once upon a time a guy named Axel_Gv2 needed a trophy card on the Eat,Sleep,Play forums. He noticed people on the forums showing off their trophies so he did a little Google search and wound up on Playfire. Two years later he is Kazduin and he is still here for some reason. (I H8 U ALL)
Number 4: Insight-ing
Speaking of Axel_Gv2, he was a tight-knit Playstation player who didn't really pay attention to a majority of games and stuck to the ones he liked. He didn't know about Steam or the almighty powerful Gabe Logan Newell. When he joined and became part of the Playfire community he met all sorts of weird crazy but fun people who worshiped all these weird games and this thing called Steam. He is now Kazduin and he owns a gaming PC and plays a huge library of games compared to what he used to play when he was wee little Axel. The Playfire community totally changed my gaming expirence. I wouldn't be the same gamer as I am now if it weren't for the variety of people on this website! Which brings us to the next topic. (THANKS GUISE U R AWSUM N BETIAFUL)
Number 3: Variance-ing
Of all my experiences on the internet, I have never found a website quite like Playfire, for better or for worse. Playfire is a community full of like-minded people that makes up a mostly awesome community that I simply wouldn't be able to game without. We have people all over the place from grishrak in Japan to Flunkorg in Canada which makes for a melting pot of very different yet like minded people brought together by a correlating interest. Our community really meshes in a way I haven't seen anywhere else and I am genuinely grateful to be apart of it all.(GIMMIE 1 RASIN)
Number 2: Playfireingtogether-ing
As I said before, Playfire brings a lot of people of different nationality and ethnicity together for the sake of playing games and having fun. It leads to new buddies to play games with and true friends you'll talk to everyday. If you have a question, no better place to go than here to buzz it up. A fun and generally positive environment is what Playfire is. I tried Raptr and GamrRank before and both of them really didn't stand out for me. Both sites are great but they felt so hollow. I like how we are all so close to everyone on the site. (I WUV U GUISE)
Number 1:Involved-ing
One of the greatest things about Playfire is how connected and involved the community is with the the website. We get a lot of say in Playfire. The staff and a lot of people on here care greatly for this website. We can submit themes, we can write our own descriptions and submit screenshots for game pages. We have a Community News letter run for us by our friendly neighborhood ADay that we may also make submission too such as this. It is really a chemistry like no other and these are just some of the things that drive me to spend so much time on this website with you guys. I am really interested in seeing what the future holds for Playfire with Green Man Gaming at the helm and a new beta being rolled out next month I am fairly excited! (TNX 4 REEDING! <3)
This month, there's one big question on many people's minds, especially new members and that is:
Why is my tracking not working?
For this, we can turn to the dev blogs. Right now the devs are working on a brand new tracking system that has a beta set to start in December. In the mean time, the staff is doing what they can to fix any minor issues with the tracking system as they arise. Anything major will take a little longer though, so just hang on. The new tracking is almost here!
I'm proud to present a good friend of mine as the December Member of the Month!
...Wait, is this MotM, or Sexiest Member?
Anyway, Fr0stmycupcakes is someone who's been there for me when I'm not feeling too great, or just bored out of my mind, sharing memories I don't think I'll forget. She's also obviously someone who has effected the community in a great way as well since...well you guys voted for her! :P
She was off having a good time when I sent her the interview questions, but I'll have them up and ready as soon as possible. :)
Few members are up to the rigorous task of creating and submitting new themes for public use on Playfire and even less are willing to put up with my fairly strict standards, or at least how many people believe them to be. However there is one member who is always interested in submitting new work for the site, even if his last two submissions might not have made it, or three or four, but he's currently the most consistent theme submitter and thank him for that.
So next time you decide to change your theme and you see Gangstatron next to that really awesome new theme you want to use, be sure to thank him for all of his hard work.
With the Holidays upon us this month, I managed to get some information from a few of the other moderators about gifts they're looking forward to the most and what festivities they're the most excited about.

"Well, I'm getting Epic Mickey 2 for my birthday (which is on the 3rd), so it'll be great to play that with my sister. I'm also getting Wonderbook: Book Of Spells which should be a lot of fun on Christmas day with all the family. Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale and LittleBigPlanet Karting are on my list, so if Santa leaves me those, it's a multiplayer Christmas this year! Otherwise, I'm waiting for Ni No Kuni in January - already preordered the Wizard edition like a boss.
So I'm likely to be kicking it on my PS3, but I've also got some other plans. A bit of winter sun in Tenerife, and a lot of coursework; that novel for my project is not going to write itself. And of course, December has a lot of good food so expect me to be posting up some homemade creations in RBL's food thread!"

"In the run up to Christmas I imagine I'll be having my backside handed to me on Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale by MitchJay1992 and whoever else decides to gang up on me. I'm spending Christmas day with my grandparents so Cluedo and Monopoly are the only games I'll be playing on the day but my birthday is the next day (26th) so hopefully if I get some money for Christmas and birthday then I'll be able to pick up the AC3 season pass and get some games in the sales like Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 and maybe put some money towards Ni No Kuni or possibly even Bioshock Infinite."
Rbl007
"I'll spend X-mas with family and have about a week or so off. I think I might get out on the bike, play some game and do a wasgij or 2. could even be on Tinychat if people are on there.
Well I could be working though the X-mas new year, till the renovations at work start."
The Next Big Thing
While some of you have been hyped up about the new game pages introduced recently, especially those busy with all of your content submissions, others haven't been too happy about problems with the tracking system. However, have no fear because the first public stages of the next big change to Playfire is right around the corner, in the form of a brand new tracking system. If you've been paying attention to all of the progress reports in the developer blog, you should know that it's expected that a beta for the new tracking system should be out within the month!

Oh my, it looks like the best this fall had to offer is now behind us and it's time to actually play the games and maybe look forward to receiving a few fall releases as a holiday gift. Due to the holiday shopping and the busy time of the year, December is usually one of the driest months of the year when it comes to major game releases. In fact this month was so dry, that I had to fill the extra spots this month with some great games from last month that you might have missed out on...At least we have the lovely Farcry 3.
Now let's take a quick look back at some of our favorite games from last month.
As one of the biggest franchises to grace the industry, Halo 4 made a splash this holiday season. As 343's first original Halo title, they walked in with a lot of pressure, but thankfully walked out with what some call the greatest Halo title to date. Whether you agree with that or not is up to you, but Halo and FPS fans alike are most likely to love this game as much as its predecessors.
After quite some time, a new Hitman game has finally come out and Absolution aims to try something just a little bit different than past games. While some of these changes haven't been received too well among the community, this game is nothing short of awesome fun.
Remember when I mentioned Halo as being one of the biggest franchises in the industry? Well Call of Duty is the biggest franchise in the entertainment industry as a whole. Often given grief for making very similar games year in and year out, Treyarch aimed to change up the formula a bit with Black Ops II. While not as drastic as some people might want, the changes are certainly there. Bottom line, if you like Call of Duty, you'll probably like Black Ops II.
After much anticipation, the next generation has finally rolled around in the form of Nintendo's new console: The Wii U. With titles like Nintendoland and ZombiU, the system shows a pretty decent amount of potential going into the future. If you're interested in buying a Wii U, look around at different retailers in your area, as they've commonly began to sell out. The basic model come with 8GB of internal storage space and will run you $300 and a premium bundle which includes 32GB of storage, a copy of Nintendoland and a few extras. The premium will run you $350.
Welcome to probably the largest section of the Community News each month. Like previous month, we aren't short on content in the slightest and in fact we have a few things on display that you might not have expected, but expect to be hungry afterwards.
